In 2006 the Federal government eliminated the capital gains tax on charitable gifts of publically traded securities and mutual funds. If you own stocks or mutual funds that have grown in value, you will face a tax bill when you sell them. By donating them directly to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation you eliminate this tax consequence while making a meaningful gift at the same time.
A charitable bequest can be created through a gift in your will.
After providing for your loved ones, please consider a charitable bequest to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation:
1. You can gift a specific amount or piece of property.
2. You may also gift a ‘residual’ benefit or percentage of your estate to the Foundation.
You may have paid up life insurance policy or one with payments owing that you or your family no longer needs. Consider gifting the life insurance policy to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation as there are significant tax benefits.
